Resolving Gut Disruption -- Going Beyond Gluten-Free and Dairy-Free Diets

If you watched my other videos, you know, that underlying many of the common health conditions children are suffering from today is disruption of the gut. You also probably know how many different factors there are that can cause gut disruption including:

  • C-section birth
  • Formula Feeding
  • Fetal Toxin Exchange
  • Herbicides & Pesticides
  • Industrial Toxicants
  • Medications
  • Mold exposure

If you haven't had a chance to go back and watch that other video on the causes of gut disruption, if you want to learn more about those particular causes.

When we take a step back and look at the bigger picture, it becomes clear that there are so many different factors that are disrupting the gut that going gluten and dairy free is just the tip of the iceberg.

If you've gone gluten and dairy free and your child’s health issue is totally resolved. Awesome. I think that's amazing and well done.

If you're one of the many parents out there that’s gone gluten-free, dairy-free, sugar-free, and you're eating as clean as possible, and your child is still struggling, I just want you to know that you are not alone.

We have so many factors disrupting the gut that food is just one part.

If your child has exposure to industrial toxicants. For example, if your drinking water is fluoridated that will disrupt the gut. If they're on medications or have taken multiple rounds of antibiotics, it's gonna require more than just going gluten-free and dairy to effect a change.

And there's nothing wrong with going gluten-free and dairy-free. What I'm saying is that for most kids it requires more than changing the diet even though food is a really important part.

What it requires is addressing the gut as a whole and relieving all of the pressure and all of the factors that are constantly impacting the gut so it can finally heal for good.

Toxins in our food, water, and air

Fifteen years ago in my acupuncture clinic, I would often advise parents to go gluten and dairy free and I would see phenomenal results. We would see behaviors change, digestion improve, and health issues resolve quickly.

Yet today, I'm not seeing these types of changes in children as often. In fact, most of my clients that I work with already are doing all the right things and they're not seeing the changes that they would expect.

And really what it boils down to the fact that we are exposed to so many toxins in our air, water and food that our gut is constantly challenged and it never really gets a chance to heal. And so we've got to start looking at how we can relieve some of the pressure by safely addressing the back log of toxins.

In this way, we can help the gut heal for good so we don't have to retread the same ground over and over again, or keep eliminating more and more foods because you notice that those foods cause symptoms.

If those things aren't addressed, then you know, it's just going to be a rollercoaster. Your child will feel a little bit better and then just when we think we're getting there and they backslide and we’re left wondering what happened?

If this is something you can relate to, if you're wondering how to address these root causes, leave me a comment below and let me know.

I am here to help.

I will be offer some solutions in my upcoming videos. I want to talk about what's really going on because I feel like as a whole pediatric medicine is lagging. It's lagging behind the problem. Toxicity is not being addressed oftentimes beyond avoidance.

And while avoidance is really important, obviously we don't want to intentionally expose ourselves to toxins. It also is not enough anymore. So I'll be sharing more in upcoming videos on this topic.
