[Video] Week 2: A User's Manual for Your Child

  Take the Questionnaire Now

Has your child's behavior ever baffled you?

Or maybe your kids are complete opposites? One child is outgoing, friendly and adventurous while your other child is shy and quiet. Or maybe your child is very different from you and your partner or spouse? One of my patients recently shared that her son, a Water child, started crying when she told him they were going on vacation to Hawaii! She said he was sobbing because he didn't want to leave his toys at home. Instead of getting irritated or annoyed with him, she understood him. She knows he's a Water child and a home body! It'll take him time to adjust to the idea of leaving home and going on vacation. She was able to reassure him and support him. The next day he was excited!! The Five Elements allow us to reframe our child's behavior so we can support our children in a whole new way!

Knowing your Child's Five Element Type is Like Having a User's Manual!

When you look at your child through the lens of the Five Element system, suddenly everything makes sense! Baffling behavior, like crying over going to Hawaii, is completely understandable! According to Chinese medicine, the Five Elements are Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water. Each Element has corresponding physical characteristics, personality traits, strengths, and weaknesses that shape each child’s overall health and way of being with the world.

One particular way of being will influence your child’s personality, health, and temperament above all others—their Dominant Element.

When we discover our child’s Dominant Element, we begin to see patterns that allow us to understand the individual child’s needs and allows us to make subtle (but profound) changes to how we interact with and parent them. This can free us up, as parents, to love and appreciate the unique traits and quirks that our children bring to our lives. It will give you insight into your child’s innate nature and unravel the mystery of what your child needs to thrive.

Wondering if certain element types are more common for boys and others for girls. Are the elemental types evenly distributed among girls and boys?

Great question Nancy! No, there does not seem to be one element that correlates with either boys or girls more than the other! ~Robin's Team
